It feels like there's a resurgance in the desire to build and update websites by hand. And maybe it's just the technology bubble I'm in because of the podcasts I edit and my Twitter stream. But I hope there's a real desire to understand the technology behind how words, pictures, and sounds get from my computer to the amazing technology that is the world wide web.
Chris Coyier over at CSS-Tricks has a guide called Where Do You Learn HTML & CSS in 2020? that gives a great overview of ways to learn the basic coding skills that the web is built on.
It can be intimidating at first, but learning the basics can open up so much for you, even if you are using a platform like Squarespace or Wix.
