The world of mobile phones was so bad in 2007. So unbelievably bad. We take a lot for granted with all that's happened in the last 5 years in mobile phones.¹ The cheers of the crowd when Steve announces that Apple is making a phone is not just because it's a room full of Apple fans - it's a group of people frustrated by the lack of innovation and creativity in an industry that was happy to just sit on the profits it was getting from annoying customers.
