TLDR; I'm doing a podcast episode a day. The podcast is called Daily(ish). You can check [it out here](https://daily.chrisenns.com/?ref=chrisenns.com), and [subscribe in various apps here](https://daily.chrisenns.com/subscribe?ref=chrisenns.com).

When I coming to the end of my Selfie a Day project ([debrief post here](https://chrisenns.com/2026/08/reaching-the-end-of-my-selfie-a-day-for-a-year-project/)) I was honestly surprised by people asking me what I was going to do next once it was finished. I hadn't put a lot of thought into starting the selfie a day project, and so I wasn't really planning to do another one.

But as more people asked me about what's next, I started to realize I did like the challenge of having some sort of creative outlet to do each day. And I was disappointed that I didn't push myself to be a little more creative with the selfie a day project.

And so, [as I mentioned in the wrap up post](https://chrisenns.com/2026/08/reaching-the-end-of-my-selfie-a-day-for-a-year-project/), I considered the suggestions of others as well as what I thought I could do that would be more of a challenge while still remaining a fun thing to aspire to each day. The whole time I could hear a voice in the back of my brain shouting "you want to do a podcast!", but I kept ignoring it because that felt too obvious. Plus my [Transistor.fm account](https://transistor.fm/?via=chris&ref=chrisenns.com) is full of stalled out podcasts with 5 or 10 episodes that I never found my groove in to doing more of.

While I was cleaning up said podcasts, I saw the Daily(ish) podcast that I started 12 years ago back in February, 2014\. Episode 1 is titled "[Verbal Diarrhea](https://daily.chrisenns.com/s1/1?ref=chrisenns.com)". Lovely.

I listened to it.

Painful.

In the introduction to the episode, I say:

> This is a show that I've been sort of thinking about doing for a while, and it's more of a not so much for you guys, whoever happens to listen, but more to just push myself in this medium of podcasting that I enjoy doing, to try and just like I'm doing right now, come up with a conversation and a topic and talk off more or less off the top of my head.

The "*more to just push myself in this medium of podcasting that I enjoy doing*" jumped out at me because that was almost the exact thing I was telling myself about why I should do a podcast episode a day for my new project. So 12 years later, I'm still trying to figure it out. 😆

## Podcasting Metadata P0rn

The last episode I published was in March 30th, 2020 called "[This is My First Pandemic](https://daily.chrisenns.com/s1/261?ref=chrisenns.com)". That's kind of wild.

So in the spirit of not wanting to add more digital stuff to manage, and clean up and reuse old stuff, I thought why not just use the Daily(ish) show as the vehicle for this project rather than starting a whole new podcast.

So that's why this series starts at episode 262, even though it's a "new" thing to most of you I'm sure. For the podcast metadata nerds, I labelled everything before episode 262 as season 1 of the show, and this project will be season 2.

![Haroldina: You trying to see who's still subscribed or is Pocket Casts freaking out? Because I just got a bunch of episodes of Daily(ish) from 2020 and earlier in my unplayed feed](https://storage.ghost.io/c/67/50/6750cf9b-787e-4b61-ae0a-04a8492a2ece/content/images/2026/08/CleanShot-2026-08-19-at-10.10.43@2x.png)

Ooopsie!

My apologies if you were still subscribed to the old Daily(ish) feed and suddenly got all 261 old episodes dumped back in your podcast player. It was my mistake. 🤦‍♂️

## My Rules for a Daily Podcast

I talk about some of the rules I'm giving myself for the podcast in the first episode, but basically:

- I can record ahead and schedule episodes to come out.
- I'm going to try to record episodes through all the ups and downs of a year of life, but allow myself to take a break if things are sideways for a while.
- No back to back "well it's been a while since I recorded episodes".
- Minimum of 1 minute in length, no more than 10 minutes. Although exceptions will be made if I ever have a guest on?
- I really value listener feedback. So please email me at [chris.enns@gmail.com](mailto:chis.enns@gmail.com?subject=%22Dailyish%20Podcast%20Feedback%22) (mention the episode you're referring to is helpful) with a voice note or comments, or reply to new episode posts on [Bluesky](https://bsky.app/profile/ichris.bsky.social?ref=chrisenns.com) and your comment will be added to the episode page.

I accept comments from #brands and people equally. 💜

As I say in the podcast at the end of each episode: Thanks for listening / reading. Have a great day. Bye for now.
