- Description: How to celebrate life and music with your friends and family.

1 year ago, Brad Frost threw himself a 40th birthday bash that has to be one of the best ways to celebrate turning 40: by putting on a [concert](https://frostapalooza.bradfrost.com/?ref=chrisenns.com) with all your friends playing a bunch of music together.

> **Exactly one year ago** I was playing music with an amorphous super group consisting of all of my musical friends and family. The event was called [Frostapalooza](https://frostapalooza.bradfrost.com/?ref=chrisenns.com) and was one of the best experiences of my life.

In addition to putting on the concert, he also rigged up a bunch of cameras and recording gear to document the concert and now 1 year later has [put up all 26 (!) songs on YouTube](https://bradfrost.com/blog/post/frostapalooza-concert-videos-live/?ref=chrisenns.com).

🎧

p.s. Brad's not only a cool throw himself a concert for his birthday type person, he's also a client! We recently launched his new podcast Wake Up Excited! [The trailer sums up the show better than I can](https://podcast.wakeupexcited.show/episodes/trailer-for-wake-up-excited?ref=chrisenns.com), but I think you'll really dig the podcast. [Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts](https://podcast.wakeupexcited.show/subscribe?ref=chrisenns.com) or [watch on YouTube](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRVyFmnlMfe0lMYaPF6zcT2JVUdpAjg9-&si=a%5FeKXj9r95k3sk1X&ref=chrisenns.com).

A few of my favourites:

### Money by Pink Floyd

Sweet bass solo intro + bass cam video feed by Brad to start off this classic. And yes, that's Brad's daughter dancing around on stage narrowly getting hit by Brad's bass. 😆

### The Weight by The Band

Spotting web dev / client friends like [Chris Coyier](https://chriscoyier.net/?ref=chrisenns.com) on banjo is a fun game to play while watching these videos:

### Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel

> When people ask about Frostapalooza, I show them this video. It perfectly sums up the night: 18 people (!!) on stage blasting out incredible energy...

Getting everyone involved to practice and set up this one song alone would take a mountain of work. But there's 25 other songs!

Incredible. You can [check out the entire concert playlist on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRVyFmnlMfe23hoLs4Hg8PpSgJXP9qTGx&ref=chrisenns.com).
